U-FE 5th Edition Resources
We are thrilled to present the 5th Edition of Utilization-Focused Evaluation. This website contains online resources that are meant to accompany each chapter of the book. If you don’t have the book yet, you can order a print or electronic version from our publisher, Sage.
On November 17, 2021, we hosted a virtual launch for the book. Click here to watch a recording of the celebration and hear from Michael & Charmagne about what the new book has in store for readers.
OVERVIEW
This edition provides advice on conducting evaluations that promote effective use of the findings. We begin by describing the essence of utilization-focused evaluation, and then outline 10 operating principles. We conclude with chapters focused on how evaluation can be used to promote a more thoughtful, equitable, and sustainable world.
ROYALTY REDISTRIBUTION PLEDGE
Utilization-Focused Evaluation’s roots are in Mni Sota Makoce (Minnesota), the ancestral and contemporary homeland of the Dakota people. Michael and Charmagne recognize that they are settlers on this land and have a responsibility to interrupt the generational legacies of colonialism, racism and genocide. One small way we are working to do that, is to redistribute the royalties from the book to two indigenous-led organizations: Dakhóta Iápi Okhódakičhiye, working locally in Minnesota to support Dakota language revitalization and the Indigenous Environmental Network, working globally to support environmental justice.
